Plesk Hosting Guide

Configure and manage your Plesk-based hosting instance.

This guide is for instances provisioned with the Plesk blueprint.

Accessing Plesk

After provisioning, access Plesk at:

https://YOUR-IP:8443

Default credentials:

Username: admin
Password: Your root password (from provisioning email or SSH Access modal)

Initial Setup Wizard

On first login, Plesk walks you through:

1.License agreement
2.Admin name and contact email
3.Server hostname
4.Choose your Plesk view (Power User or Service Provider)
Power User: Best for managing your own sites
Service Provider: Best for reselling hosting

Adding a Website

1.Go to Websites & Domains
2.Click "Add Domain"
3.Enter your domain name
4.Choose document root directory
5.Select hosting type (Website hosting, Forwarding, or No hosting)
6.Click OK

Installing Applications

Plesk Application Installer supports 200+ apps:

1.Go to Websites & Domains → your domain
2.Click "Install Application"
3.Popular choices: WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento
4.Follow the installer wizard

Email Configuration

1.Go to Mail → your domain
2.Click "Create Email Address"
3.Set user@yourdomain.com and password
4.Access webmail from the Plesk panel or configure an email client

SSL Certificates in Plesk

1.Go to Websites & Domains → SSL/TLS Certificates
2.Click "Install" next to Let's Encrypt
3.Select domain and www subdomain
4.Enable auto-renewal
5.SSL is activated automatically

Backup & Restore

1.Go to Tools & Settings → Backup Manager
2.Click "Back Up" for a full server backup
3.Configure scheduled backups under Scheduled Backup Settings
4.Restore from any backup point

Docker Support

Plesk has built-in Docker management:

1.Go to Docker
2.Search for images (nginx, redis, node, etc.)
3.Click Run to start a container
4.Map ports and volumes through the UI

Security

Enable Fail2Ban: Tools & Settings → IP Address Banning
Enable ModSecurity WAF: Tools & Settings → Web Application Firewall
Keep Plesk updated via Tools & Settings → Updates
